Lisa Utasi is a Director and Senior Equity Trader at ClearBridge Advisors, a unit of the global asset management firm Legg Mason Inc. ClearBridge Advisors is the US equity group created from the former Citigroup Asset Management and its advisory services are provided by CAM North America LLC, Salomon Brothers Asset Management Inc. and other affiliated advisory entities. The cornerstone of the firm’s investing philosophy focuses on bottom-up security selection process and fundamental research focused on companies with solid economic returns relative to their risk-adjusted valuations. Through its affiliated investment advisors, ClearBridge Advisors manages more than $110 billion in assets and offers clients a variety of investments, including mutual funds, variable annuity portfolios, 529 plans and separately managed accounts. Lisa joined ClearBridge Advisors through a predecessor in 1986.
Lisa is currently the Immediate Past Chairman of the Security Traders Association and Co-Chair of the STA University Committee. Over the past 4 years Lisa served most recently as STA Chairman, as well as the Chair or Co-Chair of the Trading Issues, Affiliate Liaison and Institutional Committees. In 2004, Lisa was elected to become the President of the Security Traders Association of NY (STANY). STANY represents the shared interests of over 1,500 individual traders from over 250 firms and is the largest affiliate of the STA. On April 19, 2004, while in office, Lisa was the first STANY President to open the NYSE on behalf of the organization and as an honor to its members.
Lisa serves on the NASDAQ Quality of Markets Committee. She also participates as a member of the NYSE Institutional Traders Advisory Committee. Lisa was inducted into the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) in 2004. Lisa is a member of Inst. Investor’s Trader’s Forum and the Investment Company Institute’s Equity Markets Committee. She is a Past Chairperson of the Institutional Traders Advisory Committee.
Lisa holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University.
Lisa is extremely active in the NYC charity community. She is engaged in her second term as Co-Chairperson of the MDA’s Wings over Wall Street Fund Raising Committee for the past two years, she is the 2007 Michael P. Beier Award Recipient for her dedication to raising awareness and funding in the fight against ALS. Lisa has also worked on the MDA Muscle Team fundraising committee. She is a member of the Eden Institute and St. Christopher–Ottilie Charity Golf Committees. Lisa has completed eight marathons including two of which she dedicated to fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.
Lisa grew up in Texas and now enjoys living in NYC where she is an avid runner and golfer.
