Joe is a Managing Director in the Equities Division of the UBS Investment Bank responsible for overseeing the Broker Services business. He joined UBS in November 2004 when the firm acquired Schwab Capital Markets, where he was a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer and oversaw Schwab’s Broker-Dealer business. Joe is very involved in market structure issues, and runs the Equities Division’s Market Structure Committee.
Prior to joining Schwab in 2003, Joe held a number of positions at Knight Securities, including Chief Operating Officer of their Nasdaq division. Prior to joining Knight, Joe worked in the Securities Industry Practice group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
In addition to serving as Governor of STA, Joe is also a member of it’s Trading Issues Committee. His activities in other organizations include serving as a member of the Nasdaq Quality of Markets Committee, the Trading Issues Committees of the Securities Industry Association, the Security Traders Association of New York and the Wall Street Committee of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Joe earned his M.B.A. with honors from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
