Brian McCarthy is a Senior Manager at Vanguard Brokerage Services in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He has been with Vanguard’s Brokerage Division for over 10 years, holding management positions in Operations, the Investor Services Group and Trading. He has been in his current role for four years overseeing Equity & Options Trading, Best Execution, and the brokerage Order Management System. In addition, Brian is registered as the Senior Registered Options Principal of Vanguard’s Broker Dealer.
Mr. McCarthy has been a member of the Investment Traders Association of Philadelphia for four years and has been a member of the STA Trading Issues Committee since 2006. In 2007, he was elected to the STA Board of Governors and will be serving in that capacity through 2009. In addition to his recent appointment as Governor of STA, Brian serves as Co-Chairman of the newly established Order Routing Subcommittee.
Mr. McCarthy holds a BS in Finance from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College and earned a Graduate Business Certificate from the Haub School of Business at St. Joseph’s University. Mr. McCarthy resides in Chester County with his wife Lisa, their three children and their golden retriever Boston.
