Mr. Sanfilippo joined Hudson Securities, Inc. in October 2009. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently at Etico Capital, a boutique merchant bank he co-founded in 2007. Prior to starting Etico, he served as head of U.S. equity trading for Jefferies & Co. Previously, Mr. Sanfilippo was Interim Chief Executive Officer of Knight Trading Group, and served as President and CEO of Knight Capital Markets. He also served as Head of Global Equities at Knight, and managed their operations in Europe and Japan. Mr. Sanfilippo joined Knight when Tradetech Securities, a NASDAQ Intermarket trading company he founded in 1993 and managed as President and CEO, was acquired by the Trimark Division of Knight. Earlier, Mr. Sanfilippo was Executive Vice President of Mesirow Financial, where he headed their equity trading division and regional specialist operations.
Mr. Sanfilippo currently serves as a Governor of the Security Traders Association (STA) and co-chairs the Trading Issues Committee, along with its Options Subcommittee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP). He is a past member of the Board of Directors of NASDAQ Europe, Knight Trading Group and the SIA Trading Committee. He also serves as Treasurer for the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation, Inc. Mr. Sanfilippo has also served as the President of the Security Traders Association in Chicago, and he is the former Chairman of the District 8 Business Conduct Committee (DBCC) of NASD Regulation, Inc.
Mr. Sanfilippo attended the University of Illinois and DePaul University, and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
