On behalf of the Officers and Governors of the Security Traders Association, I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season.

As we reflect on the significance of the challenges of 2008 we quickly recognize that it is our family and friends that top the list of things to be grateful for.

We witnessed professional and personal challenges this year not witnessed previously in our lifetime. We hope the holiday season will refresh our proper perspective and provide energy to experience 2009 which, no doubt, will be historic in many ways.

As STA begins our 75th Year, we are most grateful for the wonderful people who make up this organization across North America.

Our Affiliate structure remains the lifeline of STA and we applaud the continued efforts of providing for your members. As well, we salute the many individual acts of charity that occur in virtually all affiliates! The ideas, spirit and execution only get better over time!

We wish each good health, an appreciation for many blessings and the strength to overcome any adversity.

Lastly – good luck to all of us in 2009!

  1. I’m not aware of what STA or STANY does for their members who have lost or will lose jobs. Seems to me that 2009 may be a good year to formalize networking efforts, perhaps thru online tools.
